Conservative Party will not seek to bring back Commons China committee

The federal Conservatives say they will not launch a bid to resurrect a parliamentary committee that probed Canada-China relations for more than eighteen months.

In December, 2019, Conservative MP Erin O’Toole, before he became leader of his party, spearheaded a motion in the Commons to establish the special Committee on Canada-China relations. It was created over the objections of the governing Liberals and with the support of the Bloc Québécois and NDP.

At the time, Mr. O’Toole as the party’s foreign-affairs critic said: “The challenge of the China relationship is the foreign-policy challenge that Canada will face over the next generation.”

Seems odd for a party that claims China interfered in the last election costing the conservatives seats. I guess he doesn’t want to upset the China vote.

Will we soon rewrite textbooks on our place in the universe?

Over the last century, we have seen an exponential increase in the understanding of the physical universe. International observatories on Earth and in space have produced magnificent images spanning the full range from the small scale of black holes to the large-scale structure of the entire observable universe. Now, we are in the midst of a discovery of even greater magnitude, but few are even acknowledging it. And incredibly, it is what many regard as the modern icon of quack science – unidentified objects, traditionally labeled UFOs, that may represent technological equipment manufactured by an advanced extraterrestrial civilization.

Angry owner blows up his Tesla

A Finnish man who was shocked by the cost of a battery replacement for his Tesla Model S decided that blowing up his electric car with an Elon Musk dummy inside would be a more suitable solution.

The owner said that he lost his faith in Musk’s company after he was told to pay 20,000 euros (around $22,500) for a new battery for his car. He was apparently among the early buyers of the Tesla Model S, which had been around since 2012, so his warranty had already expired.

O’Toole says Conservatives are consulting on the ‘unfair’ Bill 21

Although he still maintains it’s a matter Quebecers will have to settle for themselves, Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole says his party is consulting on its position on the controversial and “unfair” Bill 21.

In an interview with CBC’s The House airing Saturday, O’Toole said the Conservative caucus has discussed the law. He said he has tasked several people with reviewing the party’s stance on the law and Conservatives are consulting outside groups as well.

Your baggy mask isn’t going to cut it against Omicron, epidemiologist warns

After almost two years of living with a pandemic, you would think we’d all be mask experts by now.

But the COVID-19 landscape is changing rapidly, and the things we thought would protect us are suddenly in need of a serious rethink — including, and perhaps especially, masks.

Those cloth and blue surgical masks so many of us have been wearing? They’re unlikely to cut it against Omicron, says an expert.

Super Immunity! – sorta like Logan’s Run “Renewal” – So why were we forced to wear the crap masks then? Nothing inspires confidence like being lied to.

Lab study suggests those who survive breakthrough COVID-19 infection may have ‘super immunity’

A new study that tested live SARS-CoV-2 against blood samples in a laboratory setting is suggesting that those who survive a breakthrough infection may have some sort of ‘super immunity’ against variants.

The study, which was published Thursday in the Journal of the American Medical Association, focused on how those with breakthrough infections had a subsequent strong immune response against the Delta variant, which researchers believe is an indication that there will be a strong response against other variants as well.

Thank goodness the masks don’t work.

Restricting your liberties “out of an abundance of caution”

A few weeks ago, Canada implemented travel restrictions on African countries “out of an abundance of caution” in order to curb the spread of the Omicron variant. Earlier this week, these travel restrictions were lifted – they weren’t needed and were ineffective.

This week, governments across the country are implementing additional COVID restrictions – again – “out of an abundance of caution.”

339 Athlete Cardiac Arrests, Serious Issues, 193 Dead, After COVID Shot

It is definitely not normal for young athletes to suffer from cardiac arrests or to die while playing their sport, but this year it is happening. All of these heart issues and deaths come shortly after they got a COVID vaccine. While it is possible this can happen to people who did not get a COVID vaccine, the sheer numbers clearly point to the only obvious cause.

The misleading claim that 150,000 Indigenous children were forced to attend residential schools

The claim that 150,000 Indigenous children were forced to attend residential schools between 1883 and 1997 now routinely appears in the media, embellished by descriptions such as children “forcibly removed from their families” or “ripped from their parents’ arms.” Cree artist Kent Monkman depicted this fiction in his painting “The Scream” showing priests, nuns, and Mounties grabbing little Indian children from their terrified mothers.

Ontario top doctor’s holiday advice: ‘Avoid social contact with anyone older, even with two doses’

Ontario’s top doctor is advising those who have yet to receive a third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to avoid celebrating with elderly loved ones in person this holiday break due to the spread of the ‘aggressive’ Omicron variant, putting a damper on the plans of many families hoping to get together.

Blasphemy Olympics: German Bible museum debuts “trans Jesus” exhibit, hosts “Jesus Queen of Heaven” play

Biblehaus Frankfurt is trying REALLY hard to win the Blasphemy Olympics.

The name of this place suggests it should be considered a Bible museum, but there is nothing Bible nor museum about ANY of this.

This anti-Bible “museum” recently opened an exhibit with three items that are supposed to demonstrate “the diversity of gender identities from biblical and modern times.”

‘Very Sad’: Ben Carson Criticizes Federal Vaccine Surveillance Expansion Bill

“It will secondarily be used for other things as well. We have got to be smart enough to recognize these signs when we see them and stop them, to nip them in the bud before it becomes too late,” the former Republican presidential candidate said to Fox host Maria Bartiromo. “It doesn’t take long to change a nation.”
