Barbarism behind bars: Rape & torture in Russia’s prisons laid bare by thousands of leaked videos

A chilling archive of footage purportedly showing the abuse of inmates in Russian prison colonies has already sparked a probe and cost several officers their jobs. The group behind the leak tells RT there’s still more to come.

A decade ago, Vladimir Osechkin was sentenced to seven years behind bars over fraud allegations brought by the daughter of an influential Moscow politician. Released quickly on parole, he left the country as soon as travel restrictions imposed upon him were relaxed and is still reportedly wanted for questioning on a number of charges. Now, though, as the founder of human rights group Gulagu.net, he has managed to upend the country’s penal system from afar.

Even Elon Musk is leaving California behind

Tesla’s departure to Texas is another sign of the Blue state’s decline

The announcement that Tesla is moving its headquarters to Texas may not be a surprise, but it confirms trends that California’s progressive gentry simply refuse to acknowledge. Tesla, among the diminishing number of large manufacturers based in the state, joins a growing exodus that includes such tech giants as Oracle and Hewlett Packard, financial firms like Charles Schwab, and a host of high-end engineering and business service companies.

Dave Chappelle’s Lutheran stand against cancel culture

Few challenge the new intolerance as effectively and naturally as Mr Chappelle.

There is something a tad disquieting about Dave Chappelle’s demeanour in his new Netflix stand-up special, The Closer, filmed in Detroit. For a while, as I watched him joke about coronavirus, racism and the trans question, I couldn’t put my finger on it. Then it struck me. It was his lack of nerves that felt unnerving. Here was a man making gags about some of the most vexed topics of our time, even going so far as to joke about trans women’s ‘vaginas’ (‘I’m not saying it’s not pussy, but it’s Beyond Pussy or Impossible Pussy’). And yet he displayed neither the darting-eye angst that so often accompanies the saying of unsayable things, nor the smug self-satisfaction of those who blaspheme against woke orthodoxies for the thrill of it. No, this was a man calmly, funnily saying what he believes to be true, as if he were compelled to do so, as if he could do no other. And that, in this era in which people either sheepishly duck controversy or hug the hell out of it for the retweets, feels unusual, and bracing.

A Cold, Dark Winter Approaches: Blackouts Anticipated as Green Energy Falters

Economists are predicting that Europe and Asia will face a cataclysmic energy crisis when winter weather collides with drastically higher energy prices and shortages of oil, natural gas, and coal. There are warnings about widespread blackouts in Europe, factory shutdowns in China, and economic chaos in poorer countries like Bangladesh and Pakistan.

“If the winter is actually cold, my concern is we will not have enough gas for use for heating in parts of Europe,” said Amos Hochstein, the U.S. State Department’s senior advisor for energy security.

Rex Murphy: The green folly about to unfold in Glasgow could leave you cold

It may be off a few words as I am calling this up from my sadly senescent memory, but I’d like to cite Samuel Johnson’s surely arch comment on a certain sport. Said he, whom the world in his own day called The Great Cham: “It is very strange, and very melancholy, that the paucity of human pleasures should persuade us ever to call hunting one of them.”

Stunned holidaymakers say they have been branded racists by staff after complaining about Afghan child refugees ‘running riot’ at Scarborough’s historic Grand Hotel

Holidaymakers were branded ‘racists’ when they complained to staff about the children of Afghan refugees ‘running riot’ at Scarborough’s Grand Hotel.

Coach-loads of migrant families fleeing the Taliban have been arriving at the iconic venue which was evacuated earlier this week in a bomb scare believed to be linked to their arrival.

Hotel guests say they have every sympathy with the 200 refugees staying there until they find permanent homes – but their children have disrupted their stay and caused havoc.

Biden Criminalizes CRT Dissent

The administration has mobilized the FBI against parents who oppose critical race theory.

In an official memo, Attorney General Merrick Garland has pledged to mobilize the FBI against parents protesting critical race theory in public schools, citing unspecified “threats of violence” against school officials.

Garland’s memo follows a National School Boards Association request that the Biden administration investigate threats to school board members and classify sometimes-heated parent protests as “domestic terrorism.” The NSBA suggested that some of these parents should be prosecuted under the PATRIOT Act and federal hate-crimes legislation.

Florida mom calls for mass exodus from woke public school system after AG Garland threatens to criminalize parents complaining of CRT

A Florida mother has called for a ‘mass exodus’ from the increasingly liberal public school system, saying it is parents’ only choice to avoid their kids being indoctrinated with CRT.

Quisha King made the remarks on Thursday night at the Pray Vote Stand Summit, an event by the Family Research Council in Leesburg, Virginia. She was one of many speakers and panelists who spoke on stage about their efforts to squash woke agendas being pushed in schools and the military.
