Anheuser-Busch has seen its market value plunge $15.7billion since the disastrous campaign with Mulvaney began on April 1.

In the latest scramble to return to the good graces of customers, Bud Light revealed a new promotion called the US Budweiser Family Memorial Day Rebate online.

John Ivison: Disturbing details about China’s interference that Johnston discovered — and downplayed

In response to the G7 leaders’ communique, issued after last weekend’s meeting in Hiroshima, China sent out a riposte that said “gone are the days when a handful of Western countries can just willfully meddle in other countries’ internal affairs.”

China, of course, would never engage in the tactics of imperialist running dogs.

Over 10% of scientists think UFOs are made by aliens, study suggests

US research also reveals a fifth of scientifically-minded experts have either seen, or someone they know has seen, a UFO

More than 10 per cent of scientists believe UFOs could be alien objects, a study has found.

The mystery over whether unidentified flying objects, UFOs, are alien spacecraft has endured for decades but has received little in the way of formal study.

But a survey of more than 1,400 academics in the US by researchers at the University of Louisville asked experts about their views on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) – the new term used for UFOs.

This 57-year-old grandmother didn’t choose the van life. The housing crisis chose it for her

Nice interior, wood is heavy though.

Terri Smith-Fraser shut the door of the apartment she had lived in for eight years. She wiped her eyes. And told herself it was going to be okay.

Ms. Smith-Fraser, a nursing assistant, was renovicted from her Halifax apartment last spring. Her landlords, spurred by a red hot real estate market during the pandemic, sold the brick shoebox-style building in Spryfield, a suburb of the city previously known to be affordable. The cost of rent for her two-bedroom apartment more than doubled – too much for Ms. Smith-Fraser to afford on her salary of $49,000.

Open drug use and reports of people in crisis: Rider complaints provide one-week snapshot of TTC

An ‘agitated’ man threatens to ‘shoot up the subway.’ Another accosts a woman inside a TTC elevator and repeatedly hits her with an empty wheelchair. A third attacks a group of girls on a bus after yelling at them to turn their music off.

These are just a handful of the incidents reported by unnerved TTC riders in the week following the unprovoked murder of a 16-year-old boy at Keele Station in March.

When you’ve lost the Star …. Johnston’s report into foreign interference failed to provide the needed transparency. An inquiry is needed.

Democracy is built on trust.

It’s the opening line in David Johnston’s first report on foreign interference in our electoral process and it was repeated by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in his response to that report.

But that trust is built on public confidence that can only come from transparency. On that count, Canadians had no reason to be more confident in the government’s vigilance and response to Chinese interference after hearing from Johnston.

This was a Banana Republic Farce. Johnston is in China’s pocket as is the Liberal party.

Johnston has professed that it would be “wonderful” if all Canadians learned to speak Chinese — his three daughters have done so, having attended several universities in China. When he was awarded an honorary doctorate from Nanjing University in 2012, Johnston had already made more than a dozen visits to China. As president of the University of Waterloo, Johnston oversaw the establishment of one of China’s propaganda-and-espionage Confucius Institutes. He has met Xi Jinping several times and has accompanied several trade delegations to China.

Assuming Singh continues to support Junior then I am on for a march on Ottawa.

Canada’s billions to Volkswagen and Stellantis are irresponsible and inflationary

It’s easy to see what Volkswagen and Stellantis get out of the billions in subsidies that Canada is dangling in front of them for domestic battery plants. Such subsidies clearly improve the companies’ returns on investments enough to attract these electric-vehicle battery plants away from other jurisdictions such as the United States or Europe. It’s harder to see what the Canadian and Ontario governments get in return.

How solar farms took over the California desert: ‘An oasis has become a dead sea’

Residents feel trapped and choked by dust, while experts warn environmental damage is ‘solving one problem by creating others’

Deep in the Mojave desert, about halfway between Los Angeles and Phoenix, a sparkling blue sea shimmers on the horizon. Visible from the I-10 highway, amid the parched plains and sun-baked mountains, it is an improbable sight: a deep blue slick stretching for miles across the Chuckwalla Valley, forming an endless glistening mirror.

But something’s not quite right. Closer up, the water’s edge appears blocky and pixelated, with the look of a low-res computer rendering, while its surface is sculpted in orderly geometric ridges, like frozen waves.

“We had a guy pull in the other day towing a big boat,” says Don Sneddon, a local resident. “He asked us how to get to the launch ramp to the lake. I don’t think he realised he was looking at a lake of solar panels.”

Johnston must ‘answer’ on interference report at committee, opposition MPs say

Justin and Johnston China Class Grifters

David Johnston must “answer” as to why he recommended against a public inquiry to probe foreign interference, opposition MPs investigating the allegations say.

Conservative, Bloc Québécois and NDP members of the House of Commons’ procedure and House affairs committee signed a letter Tuesday requesting a meeting to discuss having the 81-year-old former governor general Johnston testify before it.

Toronto Mayoral Candidate Chow Touts Plan to Increase Tax on Expensive Real Estate to Build Affordable Housing

TORONTO—Olivia Chow, a former federal NDP MP and now one of the frontrunners in Toronto’s municipal by-election, reiterated her campaign promise on May 24 to increase taxes on expensive real-estate purchases in the city and use the public revenue to build more affordable housing units if she is elected mayor.

Chow made the comments during a mayoral debate hosted by the Toronto Alliance for Performing Arts at the Young People’s Theatre in downtown Toronto on May 24.

The essence of Johnston’s report: Trust me, there’s no story here

“I asked the Prime Minister and Ministers if they were aware of any orchestrated effort to elect a LPC minority. They were not.” ` Moron

Give David Johnston credit for one thing. It takes no small amount of courage, when your impartiality has been called into question and when the whole world is expecting you to call for a public inquiry into Chinese interference in Canadian elections – if only to demonstrate your impartiality – to then reject a public inquiry.

IRS worked overtime to probe Twitter Files journalist Matt Taibbi

The IRS really must have wanted to investigate Matt Taibbi, the Twitter Files journalist.

Records produced to Congress show that the tax agency opened an examination of Mr. Taibbi’s 2018 return last Christmas Eve, according to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan.

The records also show that Mr. Taibbi was able to resolve the tax issue quickly, did not owe the IRS anything and in fact was due a “substantial refund,” Mr. Jordan said Wednesday in a new letter demanding answers from the IRS.
