Tlaib Campaign Events Were Organized by Accused Jihad Financiers

What did you expect?

Imagine if a sitting member of the House of Representatives had had campaign events organized by alleged financiers of the Ku Klux Klan. He or she would already have resigned in disgrace. But Rashida Tlaib won’t even be asked about this: the Washington Examiner reported Monday that “two men who held key positions at nonprofit groups that were found liable in a Hamas terror financing scheme helped organize campaign fundraising events for Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) in 2018.” Really, is anyone surprised? This is what Michigan’s 13th congressional district elected that year and reelected in 2020. This is, apparently, what Michigan’s 13th congressional district wants.

Why Joe Biden must never declare a climate emergency

A state of emergency would be bad for democracy, freedom and living standards.

One of the most curious sights of the 21st century is radicals taking to the streets to demand a state of emergency. There was a time, back when politics was less crazy, when leftists and liberals were wary of emergency legislation. If a politician so much as uttered the word ‘emergency’ they’d be readying their placards and practicing their slogans. And with good reason. An ‘emergency’ is a deeply authoritarian affair. It involves suspending the normal political process on the basis that there’s a threat on the horizon that is so massive – whether it be terrorism, war, disease or some political ‘enemy within’ – that it cannot be dealt with by mere democratic means. No, only swiftly enforced brute law will do; only the rescinding of civil liberty will suffice.

Himars have ‘changed everything’: weapons destroy 50 Russian ammunition depots in one month

American-supplied Himars missile launchers have destroyed more than 50 Russian ammunition dumps since they arrived on the battlefield last month, Ukraine’s defence minister said.

Oleksiy Reznikov told Ukrainian television that the scalpel-like accuracy of the missiles had significantly eroded Russia’s supply chains and its ability to conduct active fighting and cover our armed forces with heavy shelling.

We are talking about 50 sites in terms of ammunition storage locations alone, he told Ukrainian television.

Did Meghan Markle terrorize a three-year-old?

A new book claims she bullied the very young Princess Charlotte

Princess Douchebag

When it comes to bullying allegations, Meghan Markle is well versed. But in Tom Bower’s latest book, Revenge, the claims are so damning that even Cockburn was gobsmacked.

Reducing a royal aide to tears is one thing, but investigative journalist Bower now claims that Markle’s wrath knows no limits. Meghan reportedly picked on Princess Charlotte, who was then aged three, causing her mother Kate Middleton to burst into tears at Meghan’s bridesmaid fitting.

Italian security are praised for ripping protesters’ superglued hands off priceless Botticelli and dragging them away

This is the moment an Italian security guard tears protestors’ hands off a priceless Botticelli painting at a Florence art gallery – in stark contrast to guards at London’s National Gallery, who simply watched on when eco-zealots did the same.

The out-of-patience security official stormed over to the young pair and pulled their superglued hands from the Renaissance masterpiece shortly after they began their short-lived protest in the Uffizi Gallery on Friday morning.

It struck a jarring contrast to the inaction shown by British guards at the Trafalgar Square gallery this month, where Just Stop Oil zealots were allowed to cover over John Constable’s The Hay Wain with their own version.

Ireland joins Canada and the Netherlands in contributing to world famine

Thomas Malthus predicted that famine was the inevitable byproduct of agriculturally successful populations: A well-fed population would breed faster than the agricultural sector could grow. For him, that was an unavoidable tragedy. Modern leftist governments, though, have a new approach to this: They are forcing Malthusian famines by mandating fertilizer reductions and seizing farmers’ lands. It’s all part of the Great Reset that the New World Order of Klaus Schwab et al have planned for us: You’ll have nothing, including no food, while they live in their castles on the hill, insulated from the Hobbesian terrors they’ve created.

Feelings Over Facts

A police shooting in Minneapolis reveals the misplaced priorities and misguided policies of the defund-the-police Left.

In Minneapolis—birthplace of the nationwide defund-the-police movement— another viral police killing has ignited a local firestorm. But the circumstances of this case, in contrast to George Floyd’s death in police custody, have highlighted the activist Left’s perverse prioritization of violent criminals over their victims and the folly of one of their preferred policing reforms.

On July 13, at about 9:30 P.M., police responded to a call from 24-year-old Arabella Foss-Yarbrough, a mother of two young children. She told police that a man had “shot through” her apartment while she was cooking dinner for her kids, adding, “I don’t know if I should shoot back. I have [a] license to carry.”

Apocalypse from now on?

How the climate of fear turned a heatwave into a catastrophe.

‘Hellfire’, said the Sun on its Wednesday morning frontpage, alongside a close-up image of burning houses. The Daily Mirror was no less dramatic. ‘Britain’s burning’, it announced, again showing that same blaze destroying people’s homes. Likewise, the Guardian accompanied a near identical image with the admonishment: ‘A wake-up call.’

Jewish Americans are increasingly concerned about left-wing anti-Semitism

Democrats

Jewish Americans or American Jews? Survey shows Left-wing “woke” ideology bears some responsibility for anti-Semitism in the USA.

(JNS) The events surrounding the taking of hostages at a synagogue in Colleyville, Texas on January 15, 2022 by Malik Faisal Akram, a 44-year-old British Pakistani armed with a pistol, received considerable attention and live coverage in the United States.

Following the escape of the hostages and the subsequent storming of the synagogue by law enforcement—which resulted in the death of Akram—dialogue and discussion ensued regarding issues of anti-Semitism in the United States, synagogue security and the Jewish community’s general sense of safety.

Some responsibility???

Confucius Institutes 2.0: Chinese Government Money Speaks Loudly

In the book Red Handed, we meet a remarkable young man named Nathan Law, the Chinese-born, Hong Kong-raised leader of a pro-democracy effort called the “Umbrella Movement,” which protested Beijing’s crackdowns on freedom in Hong Kong. His efforts were brutally crushed by the Chinese government and Nathan Law went to prison for eight months. TIME Magazine named him one of “the 100 Most Influential People of 2020.”

Once freed from Chinese prison, he decided to attend graduate school at Yale University, an institution whose history of educating Chinese students goes back to 1850, when the first Chinese student to graduate from an American university took his degree from there.
