EDITORIAL: Canada needs a federal reopening plan

All across Canada, everyone is working on their re-opening plans. Businesses, industry associations, sports clubs, you name it. Individuals and families are working on their plans for all of the fun things they’re going to do soon and the great reunions they’re planning to have.

But not the federal government. Not Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. He remains Canada’s biggest downer, seemingly happy to keep the nation under some form of restrictions for whoever knows how long.

Education in crisis: Teachers are burning out, unions are preparing to strike

One year into the pandemic, teachers across the country are at a breaking point. In Quebec, they’re preparing to strike if things don’t improve dramatically.

There’s an exodus happening in Quebec’s public education system, teachers’ unions say, and the situation will worsen if the province fails to meet their demands at the negotiating table.

“Almost every day that we get calls from teachers who tell us they’ve made the decision to abandon the profession,” said Catherine Beauvais-St-Pierre, the president of the Montreal teachers’ alliance, one of nine teachers’ unions that make up the Fédération autonome de l’enseignement (FAE).

Morano noted, “Every major environmental figure [and] climate activist has praised the COVID [coronavirus] lockdowns as essentially a model for what we should be doing with climate, so that gives you an idea of where they want to go with the Green New Deal.”

‘Three-dollar gas will be the norm by Memorial Day’: Traveling Americans will pay 30% more at the pump compared to a year ago when they emerge from COVID-19 lockdowns as fuel prices surge toward 7-year high

Americans who have been cooped up at home over the past year during the COVID-19 pandemic will likely pay $3 a gallon for gasoline when they emerge from lockdowns this summer and resume traveling, economists say.

Motorists in the United States have not paid an average of $3 per gallon since 2014.

As of Tuesday, drivers in California, Hawaii, Washington State, Nevada, Utah, Oregon, Alaska, Arizona, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia were paying an average of more than $3 per gallon.

California motorists are paying an eye-popping $3.88 per gallon – the highest rate in the country, according to the American Automobile Association.

Trump says he wrote Biden a letter ‘from the heart’, despite appearing ‘bought and paid for’ by Beijing

“Basically I wish him luck and, you know, it was a couple of pages long and it was from the heart because I want to see him do well. Look, he’s there. It was a rigged election, an election that you know, I would never concede and by the way, Hillary Clinton said he should never concede. Hillary Clinton, the things she said were so horrible,” Trump told Boothe.

Furious locals slam Winchester University’s plan to erect £24,000 statue of Greta Thunberg who has no links with city and demand they put up a tribute to cult hero Kev the Big Issue seller instead

A university has come under fire for plans to erect a life-size sculpture of Greta Thunberg – with residents saying she has nothing to do with the city.

The £24,000 bronze design sculpture of the environmental campaigner – named ‘Make a Difference’ – was commissioned by Winchester University as an ‘inspiration for all students’.

But many locals have questioned the decision, with some saying a tribute to Kev, the local Big Issue seller, would have been more popular.

It is believed to be the first life-sized depiction of the 18-year-old Swedish activist who gained international attention after starting a school climate strike in 2018.

And now, after a year of work, the statue is ready to be unveiled at the university on March 30.

Toyota says “The world is not yet ready to support a fully electric auto fleet.”

When Toyota offers an opinion on the car market, it’s probably worth listening to. This week, Toyota reiterated an opinion it has offered before. That opinion is straightforward: The world is not yet ready to support a fully electric auto fleet.

Toyota’s head of energy and environmental research Robert Wimmer testified before the Senate this week, and said: “If we are to make dramatic progress in electrification, it will require overcoming tremendous challenges, including refueling infrastructure, battery availability, consumer acceptance, and affordability.”

After Years Of Calling Canada Racist, Trudeau Is Upset Someone Called The Quebec Government Racist

Justin Trudeau seems to love nothing more than getting some tears to well up in his eyes and solemnly apologizing for Canada’s past.

He has no problem calling Canada’s history racist and prejudiced, and even accused Canada of being complicit in an ongoing genocide – which would of course include the time he’s been in power as well.

A former Democratic operative intricately involved in Green Bay’s November election was given access to “hidden” identifiers for the internet network at the hotel convention center where ballots were counted, according to emails obtained by Wisconsin Spotlight.

Green Bay city officials insist the presidential election was “administered exclusively by city staff.” But the emails show that Michael Spitzer-Rubenstein, Wisconsin State lead for the National Vote at Home Institute, had a troubling amount of contact with election administration.

Alberta’s Petrostate Propaganda Has Turned Conspiratorial

All the powers of North America and Europe have entered into an unholy alliance: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Emmanuel Macron and U.S. President Joe Biden, eco-socialists and industrial heavyweights. They have conspired to enact a “fundamental paradigm shift,” or a Great Transformation, “to a new energy economy that will halt fossil fuel use and development,” all with the secret goal of establishing “a new global low-carbon, net-zero civilization.”
