CNN is reporting that the Pentagon is working on an “alternate route” for Americans, allies and our helpers to get to the airport and it’s not just because of the massive crowds blocking the roads or the Taliban checkpoints turning people away. (Which we were assured wasn’t happening.) No, this is an entirely new wrinkle in the picture. There appears to be solid intelligence indicating that ISIS-K (which is just a rebranded ISIS offshoot that’s taken root in Afghanistan) is on the prowl and looking to perpetrate attacks in or around the airport. Twenty mostly retired generals from the French Armed Forces have called for France to be put under the military’s rule if the government led by President Emmanual Macron cannot get control of the threat posed to the country by political Islamism.
The letter the group of generals signed, written by Captain Jean-Pierre Fabre-Bernadac, described the threat as France “disintegrating with the Islamists of the hordes of the banlieue [suburbs] who are detaching large parts of the nation and turning them into territory subject to dogmas contrary to our constitution.” The letter was published in the French right-wing magazine Valeurs Actuelles.
Angela Merkel may just have pushed through rapid deportation rules as well as a ban on refugees but she is not planning on closing Germany’s doors to migrants forever.

Police revealed Tuesday morning the shooter was 21-year-old Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa. The suspect was injured during a shootout with police and taken to the hospital. The new information led some users to issue corrections or delete their posts, which assumed the shooter’s race and motives.
Last week, in the Swedish town of Vetlanda, a 22-year-old Afghan citizen, Tamim Sultani, went on a stabbing rampage while screaming the Islamic battle cry “Allahu Akhbar”. Eight people were reported injured in the attack, but the number was later reduced to seven. After police opened a terror investigation into the attacks, they declared the incidents were not in fact terror-related.
