A Salon essay published on Friday accuses Republicans of resembling “good Germans” of the Nazi era — wishing to believe they are decent people while hiding behind “fictions of plausible deniability for the evils committed by their leader” — and describes today’s conservatism as seeking “friendly fascism” masked in an appeal to return to “traditional values.”

While much of the media has been focused on the supposed ‘change’ in Canada-US relations since the Biden Administration took office, the reality is that much of that change is merely rhetorical.
In fact, the biggest ‘change’ has been the US cancellation of the Keystone XL Pipeline, something that hurts Canada.

To those bothering to look, it is a current that alarmingly is growing in strength, becoming inescapable, and, with increasing speed is taking us further and further away from that shining light on the hill we were raised to love and used to call home. As that light—symbolic of our liberties and freedoms—fades in the distance, we are being swept away against our will toward a dark place ruled by a self-chosen cabal of elitists who have proclaimed themselves to be uniquely endowed with a politically correct humanist form of “enlightenment.”
It has been said many times by many writers and commentators: America is broken. We see a country riven by innumerable social factions, political conflicts, partisan animosities and incompatible red and blue states that make a mockery of the call for unity. Unity no longer exists and is now little more than a figment of unsustainable hope. Mutual antagonisms seem to have gone too deep for healing.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit on Feb. 12 ruled that an Arkansas law requiring state contractors to pledge not to boycott Israel violates the First Amendment. In a 2-1 panel decision, the majority ruled that the Arkansas law was written so broadly that it would also apply to vendors that support or promote a boycott of Israel—even if they did not engage in a boycott themselves. And the court explained that supporting or promoting boycotts of Israel is constitutionally protected expressive activity. The ruling reversed a January 2019 district court decision, which had dismissed the case, and remanded the case for further proceedings.

According to Leftist Twitter, the Hyatt also hosted Nazis. But if that was the ostensible goal of CPAC, boy did it fail.
