The National Rifle Association (NRA) does a better job of protecting American Jews from antisemitic violence than the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). That’s because the NRA defends the Second Amendment, which allows Jews to own firearms and deter attacks against our families and communities.
The ADL, on the other hand, asks us to trust our lives to strongly-worded statements, even as it aligns with the same radical left-wing causes that are pushing anti-Israel hatred.
There is no monopoly on discrimination. In the Jewish world, we have stood up throughout history for freedom and civil rights. Our people have proudly walked with every modern-day liberation movement, including participating in and supporting Martin Luther King Jr. in the civil rights movement, the feminist movement and most recently the LGBTQ2 movement. We are proud leaders in the promotion of social welfare policies and legal and ethical rights. Upholding Jewish values, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, for instance, is fondly remembered for fighting against gender discrimination and became the first tenured female at Columbia Law School.
Instagram activists have turned false narratives into deadly fantasies
In July 2005, Mohammed Bouyeri stood trial for the murder of Theo van Gogh. A year earlier, in broad daylight on a street in Amsterdam, he shot Theo eight times, and then attempted to decapitate him. Theo’s crime, for which Bouyeri meted out a death sentence, was a simple one: he had chosen to direct a film, Submission, that addressed the mistreatment of women under Islam.
I wrote the script for that film — so Bouyeri pinned a note to Theo’s chest when he killed him, declaring that I would be next.
… “In Canada, the Canadian Anti-Hate Network combats other hatreds from any quarter, but only deals with anti-Semitism if it emanates from white neo-Nazis. In the United States, the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai Brith was, up until 2015, known for its legal work to fight anti-Semitism. Then, a new progressive executive director took over, described by one critic as a “Democratic party auxiliary that is increasingly overshadowing and marginalizing its still vital role as the nation’s guardian against anti-Semitism.”
Immigration policy has nothing to do with it of course. Queen’s Park Al Quds Day Hate Fest 2013
Dear Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, premiers, mayors, university presidents and all Canadians of good conscience,
I write this letter today on behalf of Canada’s oldest grassroots Jewish community organization, B’nai Brith Canada, to our political and civil society leaders. In a broader sense, this letter is addressed to all Canadians.
France is cited as an example of things to come but Islam is never explicitly mentioned for some reason. If you don’t want to be France then you had better start talking about the Elephant in the room – Islam.
A “Happy Holocaust,” “Peace be upon Hitler,” and “Ask her if she thinks the treatment of Palestinians reminds her [of] the treatment she got in the camps” were some of the comments Ebert received.
When the Democrats got Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene removed from all of her committee assignments they thought they had silenced her. But that is not the case. Without committees eating away at her time, she is free to go on whatever crusade she wishes. Her most current one is against AOC whom she accuses of being a terrorist who is responsible for the violent attacks against Jews in this country.
An educator with the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) is under investigation after he allegedly sent a virulently anti-Israel manual out to teachers that suggests a documentary and a book about a terrorist, recommends children’s books that characterize Israelis as thieves and murderers, and gives advice on how to teach students about the hateful Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel.
Anyone who has read this blog over the years knows that the TDSB is a cesspit. It’s not a bug it’s a feature.
In other news local Muslims and their supporters held a parade in TO yesterday. Same old same old.
Diversity is our strength.
“Protesters” have waved signage equating Israel with Nazism, waved Hamas and Hezbollah flags since forever in Toronto.
Nothing has been or ever will be done about it.
You would think folks would have gotten used to it by now. It will only get worse.
This is the bitter harvest of “diversity and multiculturalism,” sown from the seeds planted by a monstrously stupid immigration policy.
Thank our political class for the enrichment and ignore their expressions of shock denouncing the anti-semitism on display, they’re lying, because when they see Islam they see votes. They will ignore the fact that hatred of Jews and Israel is bred in the bone of Islam.
Meanwhile across the pond.
Pro-Palestine protesters in London wave hate-filled signs calling Israel ‘the new Nazi state’, claiming ‘Netanyahu surpasses Hitler in barbarism’ and saying ‘stop doing what Hitler did to you’
MPs and campaigners have condemned pro-Palestine protesters for waving signs referring to Adolf Hitler and the Holocaust during protests against Israeli actions in the Middle East.
One man standing in Trafalgar Square yesterday held a Palestinian flag with a placard reading, ‘Stop doing what Hitler did to you’, while a poster held by a woman read, ‘Israel, the new Nazi state’.
Another sign in London referred to ‘Holocaust Part 2’ and another – referring to Israel’s Prime Minister – read ‘Netanyahu surpasses Hitler in barbarism’.
The bombs between Israel and the Hamas terror group overseeing Gaza are quieted for the moment, but the rhetorical bomb-throwing is still going, especially in Washington, D.C.
The head of the Simon Wiesenthal Center is watching.
Take a good look at who is speaking out against Jew-hate. And who is staying silent.
The furies have been unleashed. They were everywhere you looked these past two weeks, though you won’t read about them much in the papers.
We saw them on Thursday, when pro-Palestinian protesters threw an explosive device into a crowd of Jews in New York’s Diamond District.
We saw them on Wednesday, when two men were attacked outside a bagel shop in midtown Manhattan.
We saw them on Tuesday, at a sushi restaurant in West Hollywood, when a group of men draped in keffiyehs asked the diners who was Jewish, and then pummeled them. And in a parking lot not far away, when two cars draped in Palestinian flags roared after an Orthodox man fleeing for his life. And in the story of the American soccer player Luca Lewis, cornered by a band of men in New York demanding to know if he was a Jew.
It is not just that they fear that “The Squad,” Black Lives Matter, the shock troops of antifa, and woke institutions such as academia and the media are now unapologetically anti-Israel. They are also terrified that anti-Israelism is becoming synonymous with rank anti-Semitism. And soon, the Democratic Party will end up as disdained as the British Labor Party under Jeremy Corbyn.
The new core of the Democrats, as emblemized by Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, has in the past questioned the patriotism of American Jews who support Israel, and occasionally has had to apologize for puerile anti-Semitic rants.
Pro-Palestinian demonstrations in cities across Europe have descended into unrestrained orgies of anti-Semitism after protesters opposed to Israeli military action in the Gaza Strip openly called for the destruction of Israel and death to Jews.
The protesters, numbering in the tens-to-the-hundreds of thousands, include a hodgepodge of anarchists, hard-left anti-Israel activists and immigrants from the Middle East and North Africa. Many demonstrators — carrying flags of Muslim countries, including Algeria, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Tunisia, Turkey and Syria, as well as the green flag of the Islamist terrorist group Hamas and the black flag of global Jihad — have shouted Islamist chants such as ‘Allahu Akhbar’ (‘Allah is the Greatest’), and have openly called for Jews to be murdered or raped.
At the end of World War II when the Allies discovered Hitler’s horrific, gruesome concentration camps and learned that his “final solution” to exterminate all Jews purged more than six million from existence, they and the rest of the world vowed, “never again.”
But now, 75 years later, it appears as though the world has forgotten that pledge and once again the planet seems aligned against Jews — or, at least, the half that worships at the altar of Marxist authoritarianism.
Politicians in Germany have called for tougher measures against antisemitism after thousands of people attended what became aggressive protests at the weekend in connection with the escalating violence in the Middle East.
In the most violent protest, in the southern Berlin district of Neukölln, demonstrators who had gathered to show solidarity with Palestinians burned Israeli flags, chanted anti-Israel slogans and flew Hamas banners.
“We are experiencing antisemitic protests and despicable hatred towards Jews in these days, which makes it vital that we take on antisemitism much more decisively,” Paul Ziemiak, the general secretary of the Christian Democrats, told German media.
On Saturday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and other members of her “Squad” endorsed the claim that Israel is an “apartheid state” and therefore is not a democracy. An Arab-Israeli activist who served in the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) defended his homeland from her slanderous claim. Many Americans on the Left have taken the Palestinian side in the current Israeli-Palestinian conflict, due in part to this argument.
