There is considerable turmoil and confusion on very many North American campuses. Students in particular, and even some professors, are somewhat perplexed on the “idea of a university,” and the particular relationships to be found on campus. I’d like to offer a very slim vade mecum or guide on a few essential understandings. Kind of a pamphlet — On Going to University. It is mainly addressed to would-be students. Here goes.
Why do you go? To train your mind and put something good in it.
The discovery that the University of Leicester has created a ‘Student Sex Work Toolkit’ shouldn’t surprise anyone. The kit itself is comprehensive, and could presumably be used as a helpful ‘how-to’ guide to get into the sex trade: the legality of sex acts is listed in a handy chart, with ‘selling underwear online for sexual gratification’, ‘escorting’ and ‘sugaring’ all placed in the legal category.

American universities are awash in foreign money, with at least $12 billion in gifts and contracts reported from 2013 through June 2019. Research by Congress and the Department of Education (DoE) demonstrates that no one knows exactly how much foreign support academe has received or to what ends it has been used. Acting in concert, the Biden administration and Congress could end this influx of dark money by requiring universities to be transparent in their reporting of any foreign support.
Instead, Joe Biden has just ensured that Americans will remain in the dark regarding a major source of those funds: China.

Public universities have become increasingly dependent on foreign students, who pay far higher tuition than domestic students, to boost their profits. International enrollment jumped 45% over the last five years, advocacy group Universities Canada said, but it fell 2.1% this year amid coronavirus restrictions.
Lots of other reasons Canadian universities are financial sink holes. The education bubble will burst in Canada. Perhaps it should be allowed to.
If you think state and federal government COVID-19 policies are too restrictive, you haven’t been to a college campus lately. Schools across the country have imposed extreme, micromanaging rules on 19-22 year olds—a demographic more likely to die from the seasonal flu and pneumonia than COVID.

On Monday, the university disclosed details about its downsizing plans. Due to Covid-19, its income flows have dried up, so some of its 3,800 staff will have to go, with as many as 145 jobs slated to become redundant.

Of course, nothing like it could ever happen again. Except something like it is happening again — now, and in Britain. According to a report published this week by David Collier, a British researcher, some UK universities are now virtually Judenfrei: free of Jews.
This is a chilling indictment not just of British academia but of a liberal democratic society that has tolerated, often through ignorance or complacency, a wave of discrimination against Jews that has swept through the universities over recent decades. From these halls of learning antisemitism has spread out, driving and empowering what is now a solid movement that threatens Jews in various parts of society and has led to many of them leaving. This is not just in Britain. Collier characterises academia as “the epicentre of global antisemitism”.
Everybody says so, so it must be true. There it is right there. Everybody says it so everybody knows it so everybody says it. Everybody says it, so everybody knows It… So, everybody says it and so-on, and so-on.
These false and absurd notions originate from America’s academia and the media inundated the broadcast and digital airwaves with them. Then, the people themselves repeat retweet, share, and reinforce it amongst each other within their digital or traditional network of friends and colleagues.
