Four Out of Five Canadians Against Upcoming MP Pay Raise: Poll

On April 1, Canadian MPs and the prime minister will get a raise, and a new poll shows 80 percent of Canadians are opposed to it.

A backbench MP now receives an annual salary of $189,500, according to the Leger poll commissioned by the Canadian Taxpayer Federation (CTF). Such an MP is due to receive a raise of $5,100 annually, the fourth raise since the onset of the pandemic. The three previous MP raises totalled $10,600.

Twitter isn’t shittier just not much better.

The federal government is establishing an office to counter foreign interference and giving nearly $50-million to the RCMP to combat harassment of Canadians by powers such as China and Russia.

The government said in the 2023 budget that it will spend more than $16-million to create a National Counter-Foreign Interference Office in the Department of Public Safety, citing the threat of espionage.

The Great Food Reset has begun

We all lose from the global war on farmers

France is in flames. Israel is erupting. America is facing a second January 6. In the Netherlands, however, the political establishment is reeling from an entirely different type of protest — one that, perhaps more than any other raging today, threatens to destabilise the global order. The victory of the Farmer-Citizen Movement (BBB) in the recent provincial elections represents an extraordinary result for an anti-establishment party that was formed just over three years ago. But then again, these are not ordinary times.

Nearly 30% of Canada’s Leopard 2 Tank Fleet Will Be Out of Commission Between 2023 and 2026: Federal Records

Nearly 30 percent of the Canadian Army’s fleet of Leopard 2 main battle tanks, which number 74 in total, will be out of commission due to required maintenance for about three years starting this May, according to newly released federal records.

All 20 of the Canadian Army’s Leopard 2A6M fleet are set to undergo a “planned repair, overhaul, and turret conversion” in New Brunswick that the Department of National Defence (DND) says will not be completed until 2026, according to an Inquiry of Ministry tabled by cabinet in the House of Commons on March 20.

3 Years Of Required Maintenance? What if this was the middle of a war?

JK Rowling says her family have received ‘threats’ because of her outspoken views on gender issues

JK Rowling has said her stance on women’s rights has led people who disagree with her to threaten her family.

The Harry Potter author, who has been outspoken in her views on gender and single-sex spaces, said she doesn’t regret vocalising her position despite the abuse she’s received.

However, she added she was disappointed at the lack of support from the literary world including publishers who ‘should stand for the plurality of views’.

She’s wealthy, with all the crazy Trannies out there security will not be an issue.

Calgary’s authoritarian crackdown on free speech

Waris Dirie is a Somali-born author, model, actress and activist who was forced to undergo female genital mutilation (FGM) at age five and fled her home country at age 13 to escape an arranged marriage.

She is a powerful advocate against FGM, a religious-cultural practice that involves the partial or total removal of the external female genitals for non-medical reasons. After fleeing Somalia, Dirie went on to become a supermodel. Her autobiography, “Desert Flower,” is a remarkable story of courage that was made into a film in 2009.

Mexico’s President Attacks U.S. on Human Rights

Mexican President Lopez Obrador has responded to a U.S. State Department report on the Central American country’s Human Rights record.

The U.S. report mentions corruption and the violation of people’s rights by members of the security forces, as well as the failure on the part of Mexico’s judiciary to prosecute certain crimes.

“What if we evaluate their [the USA’s] record on human rights?” asked the President during a speech delivered to members of the press, referring to the high-profile case of Julian Assange by way of example: “Why don’t you free Assange? If you’re talking about journalism and freedom, why do you keep Assange in prison?”

Dutch Farmers Revolt Against Globalist Food Control That Leaves People Poorer And Hungrier

The stunning political win of the Farmer-Citizen Movement in recent provincial elections in the Netherlands was a populist backlash against ambitious environmental initiatives to eliminate thousands of law-abiding, multi-generational farmers to reduce nitrogen and other alleged pollutants. A similar clamor of farmers in Belgium recently blocked the streets of Brussels with 2,700 tractors. Environmental policies that measure nitrogen and carbon but ignore future food supplies are reckless.

Ending the Fentanyl Crisis Starts by Securing the Border

President Joe Biden has spent two-plus years in office ignoring the border and undermining proven efforts to stop the flow of drugs and illegal immigrants.

Today, I will hold a town hall in Salem, N.H. But I’ll start by discussing another town, just a few miles to the south. Lawrence, Mass., isn’t a place most people know. But for anyone in New England who has lost a loved one to fentanyl, there’s a good chance Lawrence played a painful role.

The border is a route in, shut it down and new ones will open.  Unless you can stem demand nothing will work.

TikTok and 9/11

Both pose serious threats to our nation, as Congress’ recent hearing reveals.

What does TikTok have in common with 9/11?

On Sept. 11, 2001, terrorists hijacked airplanes and committed suicide attacks on the World Trade Center’s twin towers in New York City and the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. These terrorists took advantage of the freedoms in the U.S. to be trained as pilots and organize the attacks. In responding to this new type of terrorist attack, the U.S. instituted several new measures.

Shattered: Catholic community confronts its founder’s lies

ROCCA DI PAPA, Italy (AP) — The findings of an initial expert report were astonishing: One of the 20th century’s revered Catholic leaders, who built an international movement of community care for people with intellectual disabilities, perverted Catholic doctrine about Jesus and Mary to justify his own sexual compulsions and abuse women.

The findings of a second report were even worse: The movement he created had at its core a secret, mystical-sexual “sect,” and was founded for the precise purpose of hiding the sect’s deviant activities from church authorities.

Do White Leftists Really Hate Themselves?

Having rich tastes and a fashionable ZIP code does not prevent such a person from doing nasty (and, yes, antiwhite racist) things.

For about a decade a self-described “conservative” has been flooding me with email notes arguing that woke white leftists do not, in fact, dislike other whites. In fact, such seeming antiwhite radicals adore their whiteness. White leftists live in the same neighborhoods with other whites, dress the same way, and send their children to heavily white institutions. For all their talk about being for blacks, these white leftists are just hypocrites. They don’t give up their professional positions for members of other races or sexual orientations, and whatever set asides and preferential hiring these virtue-signalers claim to be working toward, many or most of their colleagues are racially the same as they are.

On the hunt for alien life

The likelihood of its existence in some form in the universe is quite high

The James Webb space telescope, the most powerful telescope ever built, has gathered some extraordinary images since it was launched by NASA just over a year ago. There have been shots of stars on the cusp of death, of stars violently colliding together, and even of ancient galaxies that have challenged our very understanding of the cosmos. But it’s the study of exoplanets — planets outside our solar system — that, for me, really justifies the telescope’s $10 billion price tag.

Why are Americans dying so young?

US life expectancy is falling well behind Europe

Most of us Brits realise that the US is richer than the UK. But just how much richer still has the power to shock. In 2021, American GDP per capita was $69,185 while the mother country got by on just $46,542. In fact, viewed state by state, America is richer than almost all of Europe. Only special cases like Norway, Denmark and Switzerland do better.
