Officials in the US state of South Carolina say they will not pursue charges against a boater who rescued a drowning man, before shooting him dead.
Nathan Drew Morgan, 29, was shot by an unnamed 74-year old man last Tuesday after being pulled from Lake Keowee.
An autopsy report ruled Morgan had died from a single gunshot to the chest aboard the man’s pontoon boat.
Weird but sounds like the right decision.
Former Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders will run as a Progressive Conservative candidate in the upcoming provincial election.
The party announced Saunders as its candidate for Don Valley West in a news release issued on Tuesday morning.
The riding is currently represented by Liberal Kathleen Wynne, however the former premier will not be seeking re-election in June.

Experts have started to speculate about the causes of a horrifying plane crash that was caught on camera on Monday that showed a China Eastern Airlines Boeing 737-800 crashing vertically into the ground.

A jailed Corsican nationalist, whose prison assault sparked protests on the French Mediterranean island, has died.
Yvan Colonna, 61, who was serving a life term for murdering Corsica’s top official, was beaten by another inmate, a Cameroonian jihadist, on 2 March.
The attack left Colonna in a coma and he had been receiving treatment in a hospital in the south of France.

Liberal-NDP deal includes a push for 10 days of paid sick leave for federal workers
OTTAWA – The Liberal Party of Canada and the federal New Democratic Party signed an agreement to keep Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in power until 2025 in exchange for moving forward on a series of policies.
The “confidence and supply deal” would secure the NDP’s support for major legislation, such as budget bills and confidence votes, necessary for the minority Liberal government to stay in power until the next election in three years.

A new poll released today suggests former Quebec premier Jean Charest has the advantage in the all-important electoral battleground of Ontario over Conservative MP Pierre Poilievre, his primary adversary in the Conservative leadership race.
The Angus Reid Institute poll, which surveyed 5,105 Canadians from March 10-15, also found Charest is the favoured candidate among people who’ve voted Liberal in the past.
