“The Triumph of Stupidity”

It’s the last period in Joseph Lamantia’s Ethics and Religious Culture (ERC) class at John. F. Kennedy High School in St-Michel. The lesson of the day: comparing the beliefs of Judaism to Christianity. Islam will be covered in the coming weeks.

Pencils squeak and sneakers tap against the floor as the class of secondary two students in matching J.F.K. Knights hoodies fill out their fact sheets. Once the activity is over, the students will share their answers with partners.

The point is to open the students’ eyes to the fact that the three faiths are borne of the same Monotheistic God, Lamantia explains. He hopes they see the similarities and how worshippers of the different faiths aren’t so different.

Farmers are struggling with extremely high fertilizer prices

Local farmers are struggling with sharply increased costs. Nitrogen fertilizers currently cost almost three times as much as in the previous year, said the President of the Austrian Chamber of Agriculture, Josef Moosbrugger, at the APA. Significantly increased prices for animal feed, energy, building materials, spare parts, machines and other operating resources would also put a “considerable” strain on the balance sheets of agricultural and forestry operations.

How cognitive biases and adverse events influence vaccine decisions (maybe even your own)

The FBI Raid of Project Veritas Turns Into a Massive Scandal After Privileged Communications Are Leaked

As RedState reported, Project Veritas has found itself in the crosshairs of the FBI recently. That began with a raid on the homes of several of its journalists under the guise of looking for Ashley Biden’s diary. Apparently, a stolen diary is now in the purview of federal authorities. Will they be investigating bike thefts next?

But what was so disturbing, besides the raids happening in the first place, was how quickly The New York Times knew about them. While O’Keefe was asked by the FBI to keep quiet, the Times knew within hours, pointing to a leaker within the bureau.

Rittenhouse Trial Brings Out the Crazy on the Progressive Left

The Kyle Rittenhouse trial is making some people on the left very angry and others just plain bonkers. It has been baffling watching some of the reactions from liberals in media and politics.

It’s been a festival of hot takes.

Over at CNN, legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin, who was suspended from the network earlier this year for lewd behavior on a Zoom call, had a predictably smug take on the proceedings.

Jordan Peterson hammers ‘totalitarian’ Covid rules

Controversial psychologist Jordan Peterson has hammered the “totalitarian state” he says has emerged in response to Covid-19, angrily wondering why he ever got vaccinated if the state still won’t leave him in peace.

“I thought, all right, I’ll get the damn vaccine. But, here’s the deal, guys: I’ll get the vaccine and you f***ing leave me alone!” Peterson told podcast host Dave Rubin on Wednesday.

“And did that work? No. So, stupid me, you know?” he exclaimed. “It’s like, why did I get the vaccine then, if you’re not going to leave me alone?”
