Anti-Semitic TikTok Trend Fuels Violence in Jerusalem

The popular social network has ties to the Chinese government

Videos depicting anti-Semitic violence are trending on TikTok in Israel, encouraging Arab assaults on Jews amid ongoing violent protests in Jerusalem.

The videos, which show Arab teens assaulting unsuspecting Jews, have stoked violent conflicts in the Old City of Jerusalem. Tensions came to a head Thursday night as the far-right Jewish group Lehava organized a street march in protest, chanting “death to Arabs.”

TikTok began removing anti-Semitic videos Friday. The popular social media company has come under fire for censoring content critical of the Chinese Communist Party. TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, is a Chinese tech giant.

‘They want to burn & intimidate’: Portland Mayor Wheeler calls on public to help ‘unmask’ violent ‘anarchist’ protesters

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler has extended a city-wide state of emergency declared over fears of violent protests, while calling on the public to help “unmask” an “anarchist mob” involved in attacks on police and businesses.

Wheeler said the emergency declaration would continue through the weekend during a Friday press conference, first imposed on Tuesday after ex-Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin was found guilty of the murder of George Floyd. The mayor pointed to concerns of violence from demonstrators who’ve taken to the streets on dozens of occasions since the 46-year-old was killed in police custody last May.

BLM Grifter says Chauvin’s conviction a ‘victory in accountability’ but George Floyd’s murder and the cop killing of Ma’Khia Bryant prove justice system is ‘broken’ and should be abolished

Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors has said Derek Chauvin’s conviction was a ‘victory in accountability’ but George Floyd’s murder and the cop killing of Ma’Khia Bryant prove the criminal justice system is ‘broken’ and should be abolished.

Cullors, who set up BLM with Alicia Garza and Opal Tometi back in 2013, posted a video on Instagram Thursday where she told her 371,000 followers that now was the time to ‘fight for more’ and ‘get us closer to a place where there are no jails or prisons or surveillance’ in America.

COVID-19: Public Health Ontario confirms 36 cases of B.1.617 variant now in province

Public Health Ontario (PHO) has confirmed 36 B.1.617 variant cases, the so-called “double mutant” variant of COVID-19 first detected in India, have been confirmed across the province.

In a statement to Global News Friday evening, the agency said six cases were detected through its genomics surveillance program.

As usual Trudeau acted too late.

More COVID-19 patients dying at home, Ontario coroner says

At least 25 people have died in their homes rather than in hospitals or nursing homes since April 1, Dr. Dirk Huyer told CBC News Friday. There could be more cases that his office is unaware of, he added.

The new reality is a deviation from earlier waves of the pandemic, when most COVID-19 deaths took place in nursing homes and hospitals. It goes to show how dangerous the current caseload is in Ontario, Huyer said.

He said he was particularly troubled that some of the people who’ve died at home were in their 30s, 40s and 50s.

Didn’t a couple of MASH units get set up to handle the overflow?

The Question Of Whether Americans Should Pay Reparations Is Thornier Than You Might Think

After being first proposed more than 30 years ago by Rep. John Conyers, D-Michigan, the 116th Congress of the United States voted last week to advance H.R. 40, the Commission to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African-American Act. Aided by the Democratic Party’s control of the executive and legislative branches of government, the current sentiment in the country regarding racial justice and equity may provide the bill’s proponents the opening they seek.

The many myths on which this budget is based

To read the budget – the first in two years – you’d swear at times it was written in April, 2020, rather than April, 2021. Perhaps this was the budget the government intended to deliver then, before it decided not to bother.

Pregnant women in Ontario moved to highest risk category for vaccine eligibility

“In response to emerging data on the increased risk of severe illness for pregnant women, all pregnant individuals will be eligible to register for vaccination appointments under the highest risk health conditions in the Phase 2 prioritization guidance,” the Ontario Ministry of Health said in a statement.

As Canada’s federal and provincial budgets swell, sales-tax increases may follow

Canada’s provincial and federal government debt has ballooned during the COVID-19 pandemic, as it has for governments around the world, as they cope with both the costs of a health emergency and the need to use taxpayer dollars to prop up their economies.

But in Canada, some of the new public spending will settle at a permanently higher level or resume an upward trend once life goes back to normal, some economists say.

‘They Are Telling You Don’t Believe Your Own Eyes’: Vince Coglianese Slams The Media’s Spin On Ma’Khia Bryant Shooting

“The most amazing thing about this story is, they don’t come out, the left doesn’t come out and, like, conceded that they were wrong and said ‘well the visual evidence shows that this was totally justified,’” Coglianese continued. “They don’t point to the fact that black lives were actually saved by the police officer, that the people who made the phone call to the police were black, asking to be saved from an imminent stabbing.”

Ex-Cop: ‘People Need to Stop Doing Things That Get Them Killed’

As media/political activists on the left promote the idea that racist police are targeting black people, Americans don’t often hear the other side of the issue — why police are showing up in the first place.
