BONOKOSKI: Donations poured into PET foundation once Justin Trudeau became Liberal leader

When Justin Trudeau was elected Liberal leader in 2013, the money was soon raining down on the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation — not to mention Trudeaumania 2.0 making him prime minister two years later.

Suddenly the foundation had a pied piper in spirit as the younger Trudeau stepped aside to avoid the bane of bad optics.

President-elect Joe Biden said he has ‘great confidence’ in his son Hunter and is not concerned about investigations into his tax affairs during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Last week it was revealed that Hunter was under federal investigation for his taxes and business dealings in the Ukraine in a probe kept secret before the election by Attorney General Bill Barr.

Biden defended his son to Colbert on Thursday night alongside wife Jill, saying: ‘I’m not concerned about any accusations made against him. It used to get to me.

Diane Francis: Pandering to the panda is why Trudeau’s China policy has failed

Diane Francis: Pandering to the panda is why Trudeau’s China policy has failed

Dominic Barton’s appointment as Canadian ambassador to China last year was inappropriate because he, and the firm he worked at for much of his life, McKinsey & Company, have been unabashed fanboys of the People’s Republic of China for years.

Pandering to the panda is why Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s foreign policy toward China has failed. Billions of dollars worth of contract breaches by China remain unaddressed, two innocent Canadian businessmen remain political hostages and the Chinese government’s rhetoric toward Canada has become toxic.

Holocaust Denier Remains on Northwestern Website After Author of Controversial Jill Biden Is A Joke Op-Ed Scrubbed

Holocaust Denier Remains on Northwestern Website After Author of Controversial Jill Biden Is A Joke Op-Ed Scrubbed

Northwestern University scrubbed its website of references to a former professor who penned a controversial op-ed against Jill Biden—but it continues to feature a professor who denies the Holocaust.

Joseph Epstein, a writer and former adjunct lecturer at Northwestern University, had argued in the Wall Street Journal that Jill Biden shouldn’t call herself a “Dr.” Following the op-ed, Northwestern issued a condemnation of Epstein and removed his profile from its website. Yet the school still has a page for Arthur Butz, a tenured engineering professor who calls the Holocaust a “hoax” and a “legend.”

Ontario reports 2,290 new Covid infections

Ontario is reporting nearly 2,300 new cases of COVID-19 ahead of an announcement from the Ford government that could see new restrictions introduced in some regions.

The Ministry of Health says that there were 2,290 new cases of the disease caused by the novel coronavirus confirmed on Thursday as well as an additional 40 deaths. That is down from the record 2,432 infections reported one day prior but it still represents the second highest number that we have ever seen in a single day.

The rolling seven-day average also continues to rise and now stands at 2,089, which is up 11.6 per cent from this time last week and nearly 19 per cent from two weeks ago.

‘Freedom only to speak inoffensively is not worth having.’ – UK Judge in landmark ruling favouring Gal over bizarre looking cross dresser who tried to force her to call him a woman

Weirdo

Judges have insisted that freedom of speech includes the ‘right to offend’ in a landmark ruling which could help to turn the tide on ‘woke’ intolerance.

Presiding over a case in the Court of Appeal, Lord Justice Bean and Mr Justice Warby said: ‘Freedom only to speak inoffensively is not worth having.’

They added that ‘free speech encompasses the right to offend, and indeed to abuse another’. The judgment from two senior members of the judiciary will set a precedent for future cases involving freedom of speech.

Liberal Party Eco-luddites float idea of North American ban on new gasoline-powered cars

Asshole.

OTTAWA (Reuters) – Canada wants deeper environmental ties with the United States and one result could be a North American ban on the sale of new gasoline-powered passenger cars and trucks, a senior cabinet member said on Thursday.

Environment Minister Jonathan Wilkinson said Ottawa and the incoming administration of President-elect Joe Biden both agreed zero emissions vehicles needed to be deployed faster.

Canada will discuss with the United States how to achieve this and also improve the overall performance of the transport sector, which accounts for 26% of Canadian emissions, he said in a phone interview.
