The mystery of the Jussie Smollett hot sauce bottle

When we learned that the trial of Jussie Smollett was finally going to begin, I found myself leaning toward one prediction that was probably on the minds of most of us. Get ready for some weird stuff.

How disgraced health expert Carrie Bourassa passed as indigenous for years

Carrie Bourassa’s Instagram page describes her as an “Indigenous feminist” and “proud Metis” with an addiction to lattes.

Only her penchant for caffeine was true.

‘Utter torment’: Japan’s party season loses lustre as workers dread drinking with the boss

Not everyone in Japan is looking forward to observing the time-honoured tradition of drinking, eating, and drinking some more with groups of colleagues, even as the country begins to rediscover its gregarious side after 18 months of the coronavirus pandemic.

How Low Can Joe Go? New Poll Has Biden Disapproval Continuing to Skyrocket

The question is legit.

How low can Joe Biden go, given that every time a new poll comes out, his approval rating continues to sink toward the basement and his disapproval rating continues to skyrocket through the roof?

Traffic delays of up to 29 minutes are possible downtown for the next seven years due to Ontario Line construction, other city-led projects: report

Downtown gridlock is set to “significantly worsen” for the better part of the next decade as the construction of Ontario Line stations coincides with a number of major city-led infrastructure projects, a new staff report warns.

The report, which will go before Mayor John Tory’s executive committee next week, estimates that commute times along several downtown arteries could increase by as much as 29 minutes between 2022 and 2029 while construction on six new Ontario Line stations takes place.

Could Omicron Break the Pandemic Mindset?

The wind is in from Africa. Last night I couldn’t sleep. Because a new coronavirus has arrived. It has been named Omicron. The arrival of a new mutation of the novel coronavirus should not come as a surprise to anyone who has at least a sixth grade understanding of viruses. The virus is mutating, as viruses have done since the beginning of time.

So what to do? First, expect dire predictions. Airports will be closed to traffic from some parts of the world. There will be calls for schools to close, businesses to shut down, government restrictions of every kind to be imposed. The most frightened among us will get the most attention from our political leaders. The sensible doctors will stay silent, while their more vocal colleagues will predict that the hospital system will collapse, and demand more government restrictions on our freedom. Meanwhile, public health officials will exhort every segment of the population to get vaccinations, “boosters”, and more “boosters”. Not only should children get vaccinations – in spite of the fact that this is scientifically questionable – but babies should be vaccinated. Maybe even in utero. Meanwhile, everyone should mask, double mask, and do this indefinitely.

Details On Murder Of Barry Sherman Not Enough To Produce A Single Suspect

As the calendar nears 2022, mystery surrounding the deaths of Canadian billionaires Barry and Honey Sherman will enter its fifth year without a single suspect.

It was early in 2021 that additional information was published by Canadian media, though not detailed enough to reveal potential suspects.

Barry Sherman, founder and chairman of the board of drug giant Apotex, and his wife Honey Sherman, were found dead in the basement area of their home in Toronto’s North York neighbourhood on Dec. 15, 2017. The cause of death was determined by investigators to be caused by ligature neck compressions, a type of strangulation.

Fauci And The Inquisition

What is the difference between science and religion?

Religion is based on faith. Its precepts are not negotiable or open for debate. They come from God.

Science is the rational exploration of the natural world. It is based on questioning and experimentation. There is no unquestioned, universal truth. Everything is open to debate.

By this measure, Anthony Fauci is no longer even arguably a scientist. He is now the high priest of some kind of new-age religion that insists that lockdowns and mass vaccination are the only possible responses to the COVID pandemic.

Chinese ambassador to Canada warns there is no room for compromise on Taiwan

In an exclusive interview with the National Post at the country’s embassy Monday, Ambassador Cong Peiwu said his government wants good relations with Canada, but stressed Beijing sees Taiwan as an indivisible part of China.

“People have to understand the real status quo in the Taiwan Strait. The status quo in real terms is that there is one China in the world, of which Taiwan is an inalienable part.”

For many Canadians, interest in remaining a constitutional monarchy will die with Queen Elizabeth

The tiny island nation of Barbados is making a big change by becoming a republic and cutting ties to the British monarchy that has signified – at least in part – colonial rule for nearly 400 years.

With the health of Queen Elizabeth, who turned 95 this year, under increasing scrutiny, questions about the long-term future of Canada’s place as a constitutional monarchy are subject to more discussion.

Now, a new study from the non-profit Angus Reid Institute finds people in this country disinclined to maintain the status quo for generations to come by a margin of two-to-one: just over half (52%) say Canada should not remain a constitutional monarchy indefinitely, while one-quarter (25%) say it should.

Joe Oliver: The Trudeau Liberals learn nothing and forget nothing

Talleyrand, diplomat and schemer extraordinaire, said of the Bourbons who ruled France both before and after the revolution that “They learned nothing and forgot nothing.” The same can be said of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his entitled coterie of acolytes and puppet-masters (yes, both). They have learned nothing from egregious ethical breaches and economic failures and they have forgotten nothing about divisive cultural wokeness and dysfunctional climate obsessions. (One thing that evidently has been forgotten is “deliverology,” which seems to have been a transitory enchantment. Look up deliverology in a thesaurus and you might find the PM’s picture under antonyms.)

Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid

The “experts” skipped the “Xi variant” because they didn’t want to offend the dictator of the country that unleashed a pandemic onto the world, so now we have the Omicron variant of COVID 19. What does it mean? No one knows. The woman who discovered it says its symptoms are significantly more mild than the original or even the Delta variant, but that hasn’t stopped the media and Democrats (sorry to repeat myself) from hyping this newly discovered strain as, perhaps, the bringing of Armageddon. Why? They want, no – need – to keep people afraid. They have too much they want to do that they can’t justify logically, so they need fear to motivate its advancement.

Austria considers €7,200 fine for unvaccinated

The mandatory vaccination will apply to all those who have permanent residency in Austria. According to the draft regulation seen by Austrian newspaper die Presse, only those who can’t be vaccinated due to health reasons are exempt.

Rand Paul: Fauci Wants ‘Submission’ — ‘Most of His Edicts Are Not Based in Science’

“It’s sort of a way of ending all debate because if you attack him or have any debate over any of his edicts or mandate, you’re attacking science. This is a very, very dangerous sort of idea, the idea that a government bureaucrat represents science and that he is now untouchable,” Fauci warned. “It is sort of like you are now contradicting the all high priest of science if you say anything. But there are the real questions, and there’s real areas of science that he’s never really debated because he deflects. One area is over 100 million Americans have had COVID. They have natural immunity. There’s a real question about whether they should be vaccinated once, twice or not at all.”

Biden’s ‘Infrastructure’ Bill Contains Backdoor ‘Kill Switch’ For Cars

Buried deep within the massive infrastructure legislation recently signed by President Joe Biden is a little-noticed “safety” measure that will take effect in five years. Marketed to Congress as a benign tool to help prevent drunk driving, the measure will mandate that automobile manufacturers build into every car what amounts to a “vehicle kill switch.”

You’re driving through a deserted area when a car pulls up behind you. Suddenly, your car cuts off and you pull to the side. The car behind you does the same. You’ve just been hacked and are about to become a victim. What comes next depends on how well armed you are.
