Authoritarian Trudeau Denounces Authoritarian Putin, Weeks After Canada Targeted Political Protestors for Arrest

Yesterday, in a speech to a Ukrainian delegation in Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had the nerve to talk about the “slipping of democracy” as a result of “greater authoritarianism”, only a few weeks after Trudeau invoked the emergency act and triggered financial targeting against protestors who assembled against his regime. Again, the media ignore the inherent hypocrisy.

Johnson must resign

Labour and some Tory MPs are demanding immediate answers on whether Boris Johnson attended a drinks event in the Downing Street garden during lockdown.

In heated scenes in the Commons, Labour deputy leader Angela Rayner said the PM “can run, but can’t hide” from scrutiny over the May 2020 gathering.

And Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross said Mr Johnson must quit if found to have broken Covid rules.

The PM has declined to say whether he went to the drinks. (That of course means he did. – Ed)

This is about the party at Downing Street all of five days earlier, plus some other ones.

On Monday, ITV published a leaked email from Mr Johnson’s principal private secretary, Martin Reynolds, inviting 100 staff to “socially distanced drinks in the No 10 garden” on 20 May 2020 – when lockdown rules in England banned large outdoor gatherings.

The invitation encouraged people to “bring your own booze” and “make the most of the lovely weather”.

Boris Johnson under fire over No 10 lockdown Christmas parties

Boris Johnson says no Covid rules were broken after reports Christmas parties were held in Downing Street at the height of last year’s lockdown.

The BBC has spoken to a source who attended a Downing Street gathering on 18 December, as first reported in the Mirror newspaper.

They said “several dozen” people were at the event, where party games were played and food and drink served.

The PM did not deny parties were held but said “all guidance was followed”.

The source at the 18 December gathering said it had gone on past midnight, and that the “mood was down”, with concern building about the new Kent variant of coronavirus.

…London was placed under Tier 3 lockdown restrictions on 14 December last year, after which time people were not allowed to mix indoors with anyone outside their household or support bubble.

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer accused the prime minister of hypocrisy for flouting the rules he had ordered the rest of the country to follow.

‘She Was Actually On My Plane’: Greene Dishes Some ‘Personal Dirt’ On Pelosi

Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green has dished some “personal dirt” on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Greene took to Twitter and said that Pelosi was on her plane and was “house hunting” in south Florida last week.

This, if true, would suggest that Pelosi may believe that Democrats are going to lose control of the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2022 midterm elections.

Dan Aykroyd Supports Cancel Culture in Comedy: Offensive Material ‘Should Be Rightly Canceled for Its Hurtfulness’

By his own standards, Aykroyd would have to renounce some of his most famous performances and their lucrative residuals. They include the 1983 movie Trading Places, in which he appears in black face, and NBC’s Saturday Night Live, in which he famously used the phrase “Jane, you ignorant slut” to demean a woman during the “Weekend Update” segment.

Irony in Canada: Pro-censorship lawmakers complain when outlet they support gets censored

Canadian politicians, both Liberals and Conservatives, have denounced Facebook for the suspension of the Tamil Guardian’s Instagram account. Instagram suspended the account of the Sri Lanka-based outlet for over 48 hours earlier this week.

The irony is that the same politicians that have called for more online censorship are the ones that have complained when social media’s algorithms have failed to censor what they want, and instead censored what they don’t want to be censored.

LIGHTS OUT: Al Gore Says ‘Time to Say Goodbye to Coal, Oil, and Gas Worldwide’

Climate-change crusader and former Vice President Al Gore published a new video on social media this week as world leaders gather in Rome and Scotland; saying it’s “time to say goodbye to coal, oil, and gas.”

“We are right now at a political tipping,” he warns in the video. “The window for limiting the increased temperatures to 1.5 degrees Celsius is closing. But we have the solutions we need to solve this crisis.”
