Constitutional Group Demands Full Disclosure Of Emergencies Act Evidence

The Canadian Constitution Foundation (CCF) challenged the Trudeau government’s secrecy around the invocation of the Emergencies Act in the Federal Court of Canada on Monday.

CCF lawyers are demanding that the federal government release unredacted documents from cabinet and incident response meetings prior to the Act’s use in February to quash the peaceful Freedom Convoy.

“If the government made better decisions about what record to put before this court — a proper record — then we would not be here,” said lawyer Sujit Choudhry.

“We are here because the government has left us no choice to try and get the truth.”

“We know the raid happened, we still don’t know why the raid happened, because we don’t yet know what was in the warrant,” Colbert said. “Think about that. The FBI on Tuesday seized the phone of Republican Congressman Scott Perry, yet you wouldn’t know it if you watched that night’s evening news or Wednesday’s morning news programs. CBS and NBC completely buried the story. ABC’s Good Morning America on Wednesday allowed a scant 19 seconds to the development, which happened in the wake of the FBI raid on Donald Trump’s home. The lack of interest in Perry is quite the contrast to the attention garnered from the 2006 raid on the home and office of Democratic Representative William Jefferson.

Former Twitter employee convicted of spying for Saudi Arabia

A former Twitter employee has been convicted of failing to register as an agent for Saudi Arabia and other charges after accessing private data on users critical of the kingdom’s government in a spy case that spanned from Silicon Valley to the Middle East.

Ahmad Abouammo, a US citizen and former media partnership manager for Twitter’s Middle East region, was charged in 2019 with acting as an agent of Saudi Arabia without registering with the US government. A jury found him guilty on six counts, including conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering. The jury acquitted him on another five charges involving wire fraud.

DOJ Charges Iranian Operative Shahram Poursafi For Allegedly Plotting To Murder John Bolton On US Soil

Iranian operative Shahram Poursafi has been charged in an alleged plot to kill former National Security Adviser John Bolton, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced Wednesday.

The DOJ noted in a press release that Poursafi was a member of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and an Iranian national. The 45-year-old is accused of attempting “to arrange the murder of” Bolton, “likely in retaliation for the January 2020 death of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps — Qods Force … commander Qasem Soleimani,” according to the department.

Starbucks announced that it would be closing 16 locations in cities across the country last month — and not for lack of business, but for their proximity to the wrong kind of foot traffic.

In an email explaining the decision to employees obtained by the Wall Street Journal, Starbucks executives Debbie Stroud and Denise Nelson wrote “we read every incident report you file—it’s a lot.”

“We cannot serve as partners if we don’t first feel safe at work,” added Stroud and Nelson.

Russian weapons are old and failing, says Ukraine’s military

Russia’s weapons are “ineffective” and “obsolete”, with armoured vehicles and helicopters unable to withstand small arms fire and missiles that have only a 33 per cent chance of hitting their target, according to an internal Ukrainian government report.

The dossier compiled by the country’s Ministry of Defence and seen by The Times claims that Russian weapons recovered from the battlefield are unreliable and do not meet modern requirements.

Ukrainian defence officials also state in the report that Russia is having to suspend multimillion-pound arms contracts with other nations, either because of sanctions or the need to replenish losses of combat equipment in Ukraine.

Electric Vehicles May Present Major Problem During Natural Disaster Evacuations: Experts

Back to the Future.

The push to transition the national road fleet to electric vehicles (EVs) is on and while increasingly popular with buyers, experts in the transportation space are examining potential problems with mass EV adoption.

One such issue involves EVs and evacuations during natural disasters.

A report from Transportation Research published in ScienceDirect headlined “Can we evacuate from hurricanes with electric vehicles?” found that Florida—which often bears the force of hurricanes—may not have enough power to cope during an evacuation.

“Electric vehicles” are the Big Lie of the Green-Scam.

Wind and solar will not provide anywhere near sufficient amounts of electricity to run vehicles on the scale we are used to seeing today no matter what the green-scammers say.

They will never be in use on a large scale without a huge investment in nuclear power to charge them and the scammers will never agree to that.

EV manufacture and disposal creates a brand new set of environmental hazards.  And then there are the unique safety issues of EV’s, fire departments warn of lithium battery fires that are both highly toxic and difficult to extinguish.

They lie because they don’t want you to know that the plan is to ban privately owned vehicles.

Two men attacked in Washington DC being probed as possible hate crime: cops

Two men in Washington D.C. were attacked in a potential hate crime by assailants who allegedly used an anti-gay slur and referenced “monkeypox,” authorities said.

Metropolitan Police Department said the pair of hateful suspects approached the victims and made derogatory comments “based on their sexual orientation” around 7 p.m. Sunday.

The suspects called the couple “monkeypox f—–s” and punched them several times, according to an ABC story, which cited an incident report.

A group of hard-left academics has been accused of stifling free speech on university campuses by plotting a witch-hunt against colleagues on gender identity.

University and College Union (UCU) members pledged to compile a list of university backroom staff suspected of holding gender-critical beliefs, the minutes from a meeting leaked to The Times reveal.

The plan was to use this information to “inform” UCU university branches of their colleagues’ views, accusing them of being “transphobes” and “gender-critical activists”.

A controversial organization operating out of a historic Ottawa church has set up what it calls a “private security force,” saying it was necessary because police weren’t responding to its concerns quickly enough.

The United People of Canada (TUPC) said it has identified people it claims have committed crimes targeting the group, and is prepared to “ensure the rule of law is upheld within our lawful authority,” according to William Komer, one of its directors.

However, Komer wouldn’t share details about whether the force will be made up of outside contractors or the group’s supporters.

Every few weeks, a new poll emerges with evidence of a phenomenon that basically never happens in Canadian politics: young people favouring the Conservative Party.

A recent Abacus Data poll showed that 37 per cent of 18 to 29 year olds were prepared to back the Tories — a larger base of support than for either the Liberals or the NDP.

… What’s notable, however, is that the hard-right People’s Party of Canada obtained an incredible seven per cent of the under-34 demographic — one of their strongest demographics overall.

Vegan-hating ‘incel’ is arrested after allegedly making a series of death threats against a Woodstock Fruit Festival

A vegan-hating New York man was arrested Tuesday morning after he allegedly made a series of death threats against an upstate fruit festival – which included telling an organizer that he would ‘do a f–king Ted Bundy’ to her unless she called off the event.

William Swift, 32, of Brooklyn, appeared in Brooklyn federal court today where he was charged with menacing organizers and attendees of the festival which is described as a ‘vegan health retreat’ and ‘an all-out celebration of health, fruit-based diet and personal growth.’

Swift apparently split from the vegan lifestyle and community, ranting against veganism and fruitarianism on his Instagram page.

On Aug. 8, Dave Bylsma was joined by supporters at the West Lincoln Community Centre, roughly 36 kilometres from St. Catharines, Ontario, in a protest against the vaccine policies that he said have prevented him from fulfilling his duty as mayor over the past eight months.

An upcoming series on Disney+ is set to feature a drag queen in a starring role. Shea Couleé, winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, will be appearing in a currently unspecified role in the Marvel superhero series Ironheart. The series focuses on the adventures of Riri Williams, a 15-year-old black female genius inventor who creates her own Iron Man–esque suit of armor. While Couleé’s role remains unclear, it appears as though the actor will be a “series regular.” Couleé was previously the inspiration for a drag queen character in the Marvel Iceman comics.
