America on the Verge

One day, when sufficient distance has been gained from the Current Year to permit sober reflection on our own era, the recent past will no doubt be seen as a watershed in American political history. The election of Barack Obama in 2008 gave politics a religious sheen for Millennials just coming of age, and for Boomers hoping to avoid confronting the wreckage left in the wake of their rule. The election of Donald Trump in 2016 gave the new religion its devil. From Russia collusion to #MeToo, from Covington Catholic to Judge Kavanaugh, American culture and politics in the years since has been an unbroken series of witch crazes, lynch mobs, and human sacrifices (some successfully carried out, others not). The Democratic Party, the corporate press, and progressive activists openly embraced political violence as a means to achieve policy goals, block political appointments, and now, to attempt to affect court decisions.

GoFundMe Denied Rittenhouse Fundraising While Crowdsourcing Funds For BLM Rioters

“GoFundMe’s Terms of Service prohibit raising money for the legal defense of an alleged violent crime. In light of the Kyle Rittenhouse trial, we want to clarify when and why we removed certain fundraisers in the past,” the platform wrote on Twitter with a link to a company statement.

DOJ Whistleblower Documents Suggest Merrick Garland Lied About The Targeting Of Parents As Domestic Terrorists

Testifying before the House Judiciary Committee in late October, Garland said the agency’s interest in parents was provoked by a letter from the National School Boards Association asking for federal law enforcement to use “domestic terrorism” laws to go after those who are concerned about what is taught in classrooms.

Arizona School Board Officials Kept Secret Dossier on Dissident Parents and Employed a Private Investigator to Gather Oppo Research on Them

Over the last six months or so, it has become more and more common to read stories about school boards that have essentially gone to war with the parents of the children in the school system they oversee.

Rittenhouse Trial Brings Out the Crazy on the Progressive Left

The Kyle Rittenhouse trial is making some people on the left very angry and others just plain bonkers. It has been baffling watching some of the reactions from liberals in media and politics.

It’s been a festival of hot takes.

Over at CNN, legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin, who was suspended from the network earlier this year for lewd behavior on a Zoom call, had a predictably smug take on the proceedings.

D.C. Jail Transfers Out 400 Prisoners for Disgusting, Inhumane Conditions—But Not a Single J6 Detainee

One of the political prisoners being held in jail for participating in the Capitol riot, Nathan DeGrave, sent a letter that was released on Twitter alleging horrific conditions in the D.C. jail for January 6 prisoners. His allegations resulted in a surprise inspection to back up his claims.

The Modern Weaponization of Our National Security System Is The Lasting Legacy of Barack Obama and Eric Holder

In anticipation of the Tucker Carlson documentary “The Patriot Purge: The True Story Behind 1/6”, I have been requested to repost some lengthy research we presented about the Fourth Branch of Government. There is a distinct connection and similarity between how 9/11/01 was used and how the January 6th DC event is being used. That similarity is not accidental. In many ways what we are seeing is a replay by the same DC elements only they are two decades apart.

ADL begs Fox News to stop Tucker Carlson’s Jan. 6 documentary

Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s upcoming documentary on the Jan. 6 Capitol riot is drawing flak despite the fact it won’t be released until next week.

His claim that evidence points to provocation by FBI informants is enough for those who call President Trump’s belief that the election was stolen “a big lie” and insist the riots amounted to an “insurrection.”

As Democrats lead an investigation of Jan. 6 apparently aimed at finding a conspiracy hatched by President Trump himself, Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt is pleading with Fox News to stop the release of Carlson’s documentary, titled “Patriot Purge.”

Obama Says Parent Concerns About School Rapes, Porn, And Learning Loss Are ‘Fake Outrage’

“We don’t have time to be wasted on these phony trumped-up culture wars, this fake outrage, the right-wing media’s pedals to juice their ratings,” Obama said while campaigning for Democrat gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe, adding: “Instead of stoking anger aimed at school boards and administrators, who are just trying to keep our kids safe,… we should be making it easier for teachers and schools to give our kids the world-class education they deserve, and [to do so] safely while they are in the classroom.”

Ex-Canadian Armed Forces reservist should get 25 years in prison: U.S. prosecutors

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA — U.S. prosecutors are making their case for why a former Canadian Armed Forces reservist with ties to a white supremacist group should be sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Patrik Mathews, 28, pleaded guilty earlier this year to four charges, including illegally transporting a firearm and obstruction of justice.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas Windom wants U.S. District Court Justice Theodore Chuang to apply a “terrorism enhancement” to the sentence because his motives included attacking federal officials and facilities.

U.N. Cuts Off Indian Diplomat Criticizing China, Blames ‘Mic Failure’

Priyanka Sohoni, the second secretary of the Indian Embassy in Beijing, had just begun speaking at the U.N. Global Sustainable Transport Conference on October 16 when her microphone suffered a mysterious malfunction that temporarily muted her speech. Sohoni had been voicing New Delhi’s opposition to Beijing’s BRI projects in foreign countries when her microphone stopped working. Moments later, an introductory video for the next scheduled speaker began to play on a screen behind Sohoni, further interrupting her time on the conference stage.
