Dumb for all and all for Dumb! Vancouver School Board phases out honours programs in high schools

The Vancouver School Board is cutting honours courses in math and science in its high schools because the school district says they do not comply with the equity and inclusion goal of ensuring that all students can participate in every aspect of the curriculum.

The school board says teachers will instead be encouraged to teach to individual students’ capabilities, including those who excel at math and science. Honours courses in English were phased out over several years.

The “Stupid Nazis” are in charge. My bet is that whoever concocted this nonsense is innumerate.

Tasha Kheiriddin: The world’s love affair with Justin Trudeau ends on a sour note

… So what went wrong? Well, not much has gone right with Trudeau’s “Canada’s back” boast to the world. Canada’s peacekeeping efforts are at a 60-year low, with our meagre 2019 mission to Mali lasting all of a year. Trudeau’s 2018 India trip was a PR disaster. And in 2020, Canada failed (again) to secure a UN Security Council seat, despite Trudeau’s lavish lobbying blitz.

India strips Twitter of legal immunity for ‘3rd party content’ amid row over new regulation – reports

New Delhi has reportedly revoked Twitter’s shield against prosecution for illegal user content, saying the platform failed to comply with new regulations as police filed their first case against the site over a violent video.

The social network became the first American platform to lose the legal protections on Wednesday, with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology claiming the site had not yet come in line with new social media rules implemented in late May, according to several local media outlets.

Portlanders Struggle as Anti-Police Riots Continue Largely Unnoticed by Media

Communities and residents in Portland are still struggling as the anti-police riots continue without much coverage from the mainstream media.

Portlanders who spoke to The Epoch Times anonymously (to avoid “woke” retaliation) all agreed that violence is becoming worse and is unacceptable. “There are brazen shootings and killings in broad daylight which did not happen before this past year,” said a 44-year-old man who lives in a Portland suburb. “The violence is no longer limited to nights or certain neighborhoods.”

Greenpeace paraglider stunt injures two at Euro match

Munich police are investigating after a protester parachuted onto the pitch just as Tuesday’s Euro 2020 match between Germany and France was about to kick off.

Two people were injured after the activist lost control of the motor-powered paraglider and had to perform an emergency landing.

Police said they had “no understanding whatsoever for such irresponsible actions, in which there was a considerable endangerment of human life.”

Ontario reports 384 new Covid cases … and best keep your eye on the vaccine ball

Ontario reports 384 new Covid cases … and best keep your eye on the vaccine ball

Canada’s vaccine targets based on models before troublesome Delta variant well known

OTTAWA — Canada is on the cusp of hitting its first national vaccination target, but chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam says the Delta variant of the virus that causes COVID-19 might mean the country has to up its vaccine game again.

Federal modelling done in April and May suggested that if 75 per cent of eligible Canadians — those 12 years old and above — had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 20 per cent had two, provinces could safely begin easing restrictions on public movement without overwhelming hospitals again.

Biden Administration Pushes Plan to Combat Domestic Terror

The Biden administration says it will enhance its analysis of threats from domestic terrorists, including the sharing of intelligence within law enforcement agencies, and will work with tech companies to eliminate terrorist content online as part of a nationwide strategy to combat domestic terrorism.

The National Security Council on Tuesday released the strategy, which comes more than six months after a mob of insurgents loyal to President Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol as Congress was voting to certify Joe Biden’s presidential election theft.

Joe Biden Plans Massive July 4 Celebration After Telling Americans to Only Host Small Barbecues

Biden’s planned event on July 4 will welcome over 1,000 people, according to the Associated Press, including first responders, essential workers, and military service members.

The optics of the event also serve as a “mission accomplished” moment for the Biden administration, as experts predict he will not reach his goal of getting 70 percent of American adults vaccinated by the 4th of July.

Green Shirts Turn Brown! Green Party’s Annamie Paul survives emergency meeting over leadership on condition she renounces ex-staffer

Green Shirts Turn Brown! Green Party’s Annamie Paul survives emergency meeting over leadership on condition she renounces ex-staffer

The party’s federal council — which is the governing body of the party — held an emergency meeting Tuesday night that lasted more than three-and-a-half hours. Officials were expected to hold a vote on whether to trigger a complex process under the party’s constitution that could have declared no-confidence in Paul’s leadership.

That vote did not end up taking place, multiple sources with knowledge of the meeting told CBC News.

Instead, sources say, the federal council adopted a separate motion asking Paul to publicly repudiate one of Paul’s former senior advisers, Noah Zatzman, who accused many politicians — including unspecified Green MPs — of discrimination and antisemitism in a social media post last month.

The Brown Shirts of The Green Party are not significant, the debate about Israel is. I expect the Liberal party to more openly reflect the anti-Israel stance of the Green rank and file in the near term, this is just a hint of things to come.

Social Media Censorship Is Contempt for the People

Recently, liberal feminist author Naomi Wolf was banned from Twitter for publishing what the BBC described as “anti-vaccine misinformation.”

One would think that, if Wolf’s views on vaccines were mistaken, then the answer would be to explain why she is wrong, to correct bad speech with good speech. Twitter, however, does not believe its users capable of deciding the truth for themselves, and so it promptly banned Wolf.

‘Unplanned’ outages hit Texas power plants in soaring temperatures

Officials with Texas’ power grid operator pleaded with residents Monday to limit their electrical usage amid soaring temperatures and a series of mechanical problems at power plants.

The appeal, from the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, or ERCOT, comes four months after deadly blackouts during a winter storm left millions of people without power — and weeks after state legislators passed a package of measures aimed at fixing some of the problems exposed by the storm.
